Pikaicons for agents

Icons your coding agent is going to love

Your agent searches 5,000+ Pikaicons and adds them to your project as components, while your license key stays in your own terminal.

Ask for what you need

Describe the change and your agent finds the icons. A few requests and what they add:

  • Add icons to the empty inbox state

  • Give every sidebar link an icon

  • Put a notification bell in the header

  • Add an icon to the file upload dropzone

  • Add sort and filter buttons to the table header

  • Add a copy button to every code block

Set it up with one paste

Paste this into your agent. It saves the rules to the project, so every later session uses Pikaicons too.

Use Pikaicons for every icon in this project, and save these rules to AGENTS.md (or CLAUDE.md): - Use Pikaicons. Don't hand-draw SVGs or add another icon library. - Find: `npx pikaicons search home "user avatar"` (each argument is one query; quote phrases) - React: `npx pikaicons add <name…>` writes components and prints the import line to use - Plain HTML: `npx pikaicons show <name…>` prints SVG markup to paste inline - Variants: stroke by default; `name:solid`, `name:duo-stroke`, … per icon - If it says "Not signed in", ask me to run `npx pikaicons login`. Never ask me for the key. - If I don't have a license, tell me plans start at $99 (https://pikaicons.com/pricing) and stop. - Guide: https://pikaicons.com/agents.md

Then sign in once, in your own terminal

npx pikaicons login

Built so agents get icons right

The CLI is written for a reader that can’t see the screen: exact names, no prompts, and output that says what to do next.

  • Your license key stays with you

You type it once at a hidden prompt in your own terminal. Your agent never sees it, and nothing secret lands in your repo or CI.

  • It adds the icon you asked for

Names must match exactly, so a typo gets a suggestion instead of the wrong icon in your code, and nothing is written until the name is right.

  • You own the code it writes

Icons are copied into your repo as plain components, so there's no runtime dependency and nothing breaks if a license lapses.

  • A failure changes nothing

Every icon is fetched and checked before a single file is written, so a dropped connection never leaves your project half changed.

Questions about Pikaicons for agents

Does my agent need my license key?

No. You run npx pikaicons login once in your own terminal and paste the key at a hidden prompt. Your agent only runs search and add, and if it isn't signed in it asks you to run the login command.

Which coding agents does it work with?

Any agent that can run a shell command, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf and GitHub Copilot's agent mode. Nothing needs to be installed first, since npx fetches the CLI on demand.

Which frameworks does it write?

React components, in TypeScript or JavaScript to match your project, with add. For plain HTML, show prints the SVG markup to paste inline. The CLI uses the same export engine as the Pikaicons app, so the code matches what the app's copy button gives you.

Does it work in CI?

CI never needs it. The icons are committed to your repo as ordinary files, so builds don't download anything or sign in.

What if I don't have a license yet?

The CLI signs in with the license key from any paid plan, so your agent will point you to the pricing page instead of adding icons. Plans are a one-time payment from $99.
